The meeting started with welcoming the new firefighters who came to join the department from Tightwad, along with cupcakes to celebrate the birthdays in July.
There was also information on how to figure out if someone’s suffering from heatstroke from WFPD Firefighter Mike Booker who is also an EMT with Warsaw-Lincoln Ambulance.
After that, all of the firefighters, cadets, and junior firefighters headed outside for hydrant training. The cadets and juniors learned how hard it can be to turn the wrench and open the hydrant!
Hydrant training transitioned into dump tank training since sometimes there are no hydrants available in our district where we need to fight fires.
The firefighters had to pack the hoses back onto the truck after the training. As we’ve said before, taking care of the equipment we use helps us!
The meeting was finished up with packing new hoses onto the trucks that needed them. Despite the care we put into taking care of the equipment, it does still wear out. We are grateful to receive new equipment when we need it!
